Porsche Club Malaysia (PCM) together with Ferrari Owner’s Club (FOC), Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and Force of Nature Aid Foundation (FON) organised a fund raiser ‘SUPERCAR FOR CHARITY – in aid of Malaysian Floods Victims’ on 24 February 2008 at Sepang International Circuit. The event objective was to raise funds to assist the recent flood victims in the country to rebuild and restore their lives. It offered the public a chance to contribute to a good cause and at the same time treating motor sport’s fans and car enthusiasts to a unique track experience.
DYMM Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan was the guest of honour for the event. The main attraction of the day was the supercar rides where passengers were taken around the circuit in impressive selections of Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Aston Martins and BMW M6. The slalom challenge conducted by the Sepang International Drive and Race Academy (SIDRA) was also a hit at the event with participants trying to outdo each other to win the upcoming F1 tickets.
Including corporate sponsors from RHB Bank, Hektar Reit, Bolton Berhad & SP Setia and donation from Selangor Turf Club & Rotary Club, the event managed to raise RM218,030.
