The Force of Nature Aid Foundation seeks a versatile Grants Officer to strengthen the grant-making team of the Foundation. Reporting to the Manager of the Grants Division, s/he will be responsible for his or her own portfolio of projects.

This includes:

• Evaluating project proposals and facilitating grant-making activities in accordance with Foundation policies and procedures.
• Identifying grantees with capabilities for additional or new projects
• Identifying and establishing relationships with new programme partners.
• Ensuring that grant files meet legal, auditing and Foundation requirements.

Desired qualifications, experience, skills

Each Foundation grant-making project is a collaboration between a number of agencies—the benefiting community, local and international NGO’s, other funding agencies and FON. For effective grant-making, Grants Officers need to exercise good communication and project management skills to ensure project objectives are met.

In addition to the General Qualities above, the successful candidate with have:

• A bachelor’s degree in social science, with prior work experience at a local or international NGO, funding agency or government body.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• The ability to communicate programme details to all stakeholders.
• The ability to design and implement effective workflow processes and procedures.
• Planning and management skills sufficient to enable independent prioritisation.
• A willingness to travel abroad.
